TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Who provides Cuppa
Cuppa’s social network and social movement are operated by Cuppa of Life Pty Ltd, ABN 14 661 597 342. In these terms, “Cuppa”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Cuppa of Life Pty Ltd.
You purchase your round of Cuppa conversations from Cuppa. Cuppa is responsible for participant support and refunds. Pick My Brain supplies the technology used to operate the platform.
Contact us at enquiry@cuppa.tv.
These terms apply to people joining Cuppa’s social network and social movement through its matched-conversation initiative. They apply together with the Cuppa Code of Conduct provided when you join. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled; accepting these terms is not blanket consent to optional marketing or publicity.
2. What you are joining
Cuppa is a social network and social movement bringing good humans together through genuine human connection. Through thoughtful introductions, it helps people meet outside their usual circles for platonic, one-to-one conversations.
One round is ten completed conversations within your participation period. An introduction, unanswered message, cancellation or no-show is not a completed conversation.
Matches take account of your profile, preferences and available participants. Online conversations are welcome. A nearby in-person match depends on suitable participants being available and is not guaranteed.
Different conversations will offer different experiences. We do not promise a particular friendship, business opportunity, income or personal outcome. Cuppa is a peer-connection service, not a professional medical, mental health, legal or financial advice service.
3. Eligibility and joining
Cuppa is open to adults aged 18 or over in Australia and New Zealand. Provide accurate information about yourself, complete the joining requirements and keep your account secure. Do not impersonate anyone or use another person's account.
Joining is voluntary. You choose whether to join and agree to any charge before paying.
Read these terms, the Code of Conduct and privacy information before agreeing to join. A funded place has the same participation and conduct requirements as a paid place.
4. Price and funded places
The price for one round is AUD $110 for participants in both Australia and New Zealand. The Australian price includes $10 GST. The total for New Zealand participants is also AUD $110, not NZD $110. Your checkout shows any applicable tax and discount before you agree to pay. Any currency-conversion or overseas-transaction fees charged separately by your bank or payment provider are outside Cuppa’s price.
If Cuppa has offered you a funded first round of ten conversations, use the eligibility instructions and code provided with that offer. Your funded place is subject to the conditions communicated by Cuppa. If the checkout does not reflect your funded place, contact enquiry@cuppa.tv before paying.
There is no automatic renewal or repeat charge. When you finish a round, you can choose whether to buy another at the price offered then.
Food, drinks, travel and separately arranged activities are not included. Buying a drink is optional. Participants cover their own costs unless they independently agree otherwise.
5. Your participation period
The movement launches January 2027. The first cohort's 100-day participation period starts at launch. First matches are planned to be released from 25 November 2026, so early participants have extra time before the 100-day period begins.
Any conversations completed before launch count towards the same ten conversations. They do not create an additional allowance of ten.
For people joining on or after launch, the 100-day period begins when they join that round.
Introductions are released progressively, not on a guaranteed weekly or monthly schedule. Your preferences, available participants and engagement with previous introductions affect the timing.
The participation period does not allow us to treat a service we have failed to provide as delivered. Your consumer rights and the service-problem provisions below continue to apply.
6. Arranging and recording conversations
You and your match agree a time, online meeting link or public meeting location. Allow about an hour so both people have time to share and listen. Add your arrangement to your calendar and use the available messaging tools to communicate any changes.
Keep your commitment or let your match know as early as possible if you need to reschedule. Aim to give at least 24 hours' notice when you can; emergencies can happen.
After a conversation, record that you met and complete the post-Cuppa feedback. Do this even if you arranged the conversation outside the platform. Record honestly, and do not include unnecessary private details about the other person.
A shared conversation can count once towards each participant's own ten. It remains one unique conversation when we report the programme's overall impact.
If a match does not respond, cancels or does not attend, use the available replacement-request option or contact enquiry@cuppa.tv. An introduction or no-show alone does not use a completed-conversation allowance. Contact us if your completion record is wrong or a platform issue prevents your progress.
Not every conversation will be a great fit. If you have an issue, include it in your post-Cuppa feedback or contact enquiry@cuppa.tv so we can review the circumstances and help. A conversation is not automatically excluded from the ten simply because you did not enjoy it. This does not affect your right to leave an uncomfortable or unsafe interaction, report misconduct, or seek a remedy for a service failure.
7. Participation and inactivity
Cuppa works best when participants respond and make time to meet. An inactive or unresponsive account may be automatically snoozed so it does not continue receiving new matches while others are left waiting. You can reactivate when you are ready to participate.
Snoozing does not stop or extend your 100-day participation period. Participants cannot use a self-selected pause to extend that period.
Unused conversations expire at the end of the 100-day participation period. There is no entitlement to an extension. If exceptional circumstances have prevented you from participating, contact enquiry@cuppa.tv. Cuppa may consider those circumstances case by case, but an extension is not guaranteed. Expiry does not remove rights arising because Cuppa or the platform failed to provide the service. Contact enquiry@cuppa.tv if service problems have prevented your progress.
8. Cancellation and refunds
You can stop participating at any time. We do not offer a general change-of-mind refund for an unused or partly used round. This does not limit the satisfaction refund below or any right to cancellation, a refund or another remedy under applicable consumer law.
Ten-conversation satisfaction refund
If you complete all ten conversations and do not feel the experience was worth it, Cuppa offers a full refund of the amount you paid for that round. Email enquiry@cuppa.tv within 30 days of your tenth completed conversation and tell us why. We may check your participation and completion records to administer the request. Contact us if a recording problem has prevented those records from reflecting a conversation you completed.
A refund returns the amount actually paid for the round. It does not convert a fully funded place or a discount into a cash payment to the participant.
Service problems and consumer rights
Your rights under applicable consumer law are not excluded or restricted by these terms. These include Australian Consumer Law guarantees and New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act protections where they apply. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to have a problem put right, cancel the service, receive a refund or receive compensation.
You do not need to complete ten conversations to exercise those rights. The satisfaction refund's 30-day request window does not limit them. A lack of available matches or a platform fault is not automatically treated as your failure to participate.
Contact enquiry@cuppa.tv if we have not provided the service you purchased. We will review the circumstances and provide the remedy required by the agreement and applicable law. Nothing in these terms retrospectively removes a refund, replacement or other benefit promised when you joined.
9. Conduct, safety and privacy
Follow the Cuppa Code of Conduct. Treat other participants with respect, listen, honour boundaries and keep the experience platonic. Do not harass, discriminate, threaten, deceive or pressure someone, or use conversations for unsolicited pitching or recruitment. A business topic may be explored only where both people freely want to do so.
Do not record, photograph, transcribe, introduce an AI note-taking tool, or share someone else's story or contact details without their prior permission and compliance with applicable law. This does not prevent lawful reporting, seeking support or action necessary to address a serious safety concern.
An invitation, referral or online profile is not a guarantee of someone's identity, conduct or safety. Choose public places for in-person meetings and arrangements you are comfortable with.
You may decline or end a conversation if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. You do not need to confront the other person or continue the conversation before seeking support.
Report concerns through post-Cuppa feedback or enquiry@cuppa.tv. Cuppa is not an emergency-response service. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
10. Restricting, suspending or ending participation
Cuppa may give a warning, restrict contact or access, suspend an account or remove a person from the social network and movement where, acting reasonably and in good faith on the information available, we determine that the person has breached these terms or the Code of Conduct, or that their participation presents a credible risk to another person’s safety or privacy. This includes harassment, discrimination, threats, stalking, sexual misconduct, scams, deception, unsolicited selling or recruitment, unauthorised sharing of personal information, repeated disregard of boundaries, retaliation against a person raising a good-faith concern, or evading a restriction. We will choose a response proportionate to the seriousness, impact, repetition and ongoing risk. We may terminate participation for a serious or repeated breach, or where reasonably necessary to address a serious ongoing safety risk.
Where we reasonably consider immediate action necessary to address a credible risk of serious harm, we may restrict or suspend access, or remove a person from a conversation, event or community space, without prior notice while we assess the concern. A report or temporary restriction is not itself a finding of misconduct. We will review interim measures as the assessment progresses and keep them no broader or longer than reasonably necessary.
We will give notice of the action and reasons, and a reasonable opportunity to respond before a final decision where safe, lawful and practicable. If urgent action is needed first, we will provide that information and opportunity as soon as reasonably practicable afterwards. We may withhold identifying or sensitive details where reasonably necessary to protect someone’s safety or privacy or comply with the law, while providing enough information for a meaningful response where possible. You can request a review at enquiry@cuppa.tv and explain any relevant information or concerns about the process. Where practicable, someone not involved in the original decision will review it. This does not prevent an external complaint or an available legal remedy.
Restriction, suspension or termination does not automatically forfeit fees paid or remove any refund, cancellation or other rights under section 8 or applicable law. We will assess any refund or other remedy according to those rights and the circumstances, including any service not provided. Nothing in this section excludes or limits rights under Australian or New Zealand consumer law.
11. Information and optional publicity
Our Cuppa Privacy Policy explains relevant information handling, including the role of Pick My Brain. You choose what to share during a conversation. Participation does not authorise Cuppa, Pick My Brain or another participant to publish your photograph, conversation, testimonial or personal story.
Optional promotional use requires separate permission. Necessary service communications are distinct from optional marketing.
12. Platform use and intellectual property
Use the Cuppa platform lawfully and respect the rights of others. Do not scrape participant information, harvest contact details, send spam, upload malicious software, bypass access controls or interfere with the platform or another person's account. Report suspected unauthorised account access to enquiry@cuppa.tv promptly.
Cuppa, Pick My Brain and other rights holders retain ownership of their respective names, branding, software and materials. Participation gives you permission to use the materials made available to you for their intended purpose within Cuppa’s matched-conversation initiative; it does not transfer ownership or permit unauthorised copying, sale or commercial exploitation. This does not restrict uses permitted by law.
You retain ownership of content you create. Only upload material you have the right to share. You allow Cuppa and its platform providers to host, process and display that material only as needed to provide and administer Cuppa’s matched-conversation initiative, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and your applicable choices. This is not permission to publish your story in marketing or train general-purpose AI models. Information retained after account closure is handled as described in the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Links to external websites and independently arranged meeting services may be provided for convenience. Their operators have their own terms and privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement, and Cuppa does not control those independent services. This does not remove Cuppa's responsibility for the matched-conversation service it supplies or your rights under applicable law.
13. Changes and questions
We will not retrospectively remove rights or promised benefits attached to a round already purchased. If a material service change is necessary, we will explain it and address any resulting cancellation or remedy rights under the agreement and applicable law.
Future rounds may have different clearly disclosed terms and prices, which you can consider before choosing whether to join again.
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, it applies only to the extent permitted by law; the remaining provisions continue where they can operate fairly and lawfully.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. Nothing requires a New Zealand participant to give up applicable New Zealand consumer or privacy rights or prevents a participant using a court, tribunal or complaints body available under applicable law.
