Meet Ros Handley
Catalysts for change come in many forms. My focus on wellbeing, transition and renewal is about navigating workplace change, career change and/or personal change. My expertise is based on direct experience, research and formal study.
Let's talk about workplace change: As organisations move beyond transformation to revolution, the need to focus on human wellbeing is vital.
I understand the type of challenges leaders and their teams face when the status quo is no longer an option.
The pace and nature of change means people are performing in an increasingly dynamic environment, requiring qualities such as adaptability, resilience and a high level of motivation. My focus is on supporting these qualities through my keynote speech and workshops ‘From Human Being to Human Thriving’.
Why me? I have worked in large, complex organisations. I have served as a trusted advisor to decision-makers in corporate, not-for-profit and public sectors. I have a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Management and served as a Company Director on a health sector board.
I have held roles in driving and evaluating reform in the emergency management sector. I have been involved in workplace change. I have facilitated strategic planning and risk workshops.
In some of these roles, I also served as a workplace coach, a mentor or peer supporter, complemented by the relevant professional development training.
I have personally witnessed the severe health effects of stress and burnout.
Let's talk about Career Change with a Difference: Although I am a qualified career transition coach, my focus is not on CV's or interviews.
My expertise helps those who have devoted so much time and energy to their work, to navigate the change in identity - their place in the world, and explore what's next.
In my talks and workshops, I share practical insights for moving forward feeling more confident, more energised and ultimately, more fulfilled.
Let's talk about Personal Change - Making it Count: When I speak about renewal, I walk the talk!
For me, life took an unexpected turn in March 2018 when I was diagnosed with cancer. This was not part of the plan! It turned out to be the catalyst for powerful change over the two years that followed.
One of the most important decisions was to make my time count, and now here I am encouraging others to do the same.
You don't need a diagnosis to realise it's time to consider what's next - sometimes it's just a quiet, persistent nudge.
Whatever the context of change in your world, let's talk.
My Why
We are living in an era of incredible change, which presents a range of challenges and opportunities.
We know that the next 3, 6, 10 years won’t be the same as the last 3, 6, 10 years for a range of reasons. We can’t use our experience of the past to predict how life will be in the future. I've heard it said, there is no new normal coming; just ongoing change.
My cancer diagnosis was similarly confronting. There's nothing like conversations with doctors about your life expectancy to shift your perspective and your priorities.
In the two years that followed, I learned about navigating personal and professional change. I learned how to ride the rollercoaster of fear, uncertainty and overwhelm - it was a lonely ride. I learned how to redefine my place in the world - my identity, I did the work and the insights are worth sharing.
In fact, a valued connection said, "how dare I not share my learnings for the benefit of others."
Beyond the focus on change, I learned the importance of establishing a solid foundation for what comes next.
I'm here to help - whatever your catalyst for change may be.
