Meet Nimarta Verma
My lifelong love of stories began in a tough childhood, finding escape in books when real life felt overwhelming. That passion led me into a 20-year career in global advertising and branding with companies like Unilever and Woolworths, crafting polished narratives that made brands and leaders look flawless.
I call myself a recovering marketer now, because while those stories looked perfect, they rarely built trust. At the same time, I was coaching leaders, and I discovered something different: when someone shared the messy, unpolished version of their story, people leaned in. They felt less alone.
Then life completely shattered me. I lost five family members in a year, became a mother, and faced postnatal depression all while trying to run a business. I was trying to hold it together professionally while my personal world was falling apart.
So I started sharing what was actually happening to me, the scary parts, the stuff that made me feel like I was failing at everything. I thought it would ruin my credibility, but instead people trusted me more.
That’s when I saw the flaw in traditional storytelling. It inspires, but often from a distance. It’s polished, safe, and designed to impress. StorySharing™ is different. It’s a roadmap for leaders to show up authentically. Storytelling says, “look at me.” StorySharing says, “I see you. I get it.”
Today, through workshops, coaching, and keynotes, I’m excited to see StorySharing™ helping leaders rebuild trust, re-engage their teams, and create spaces where people feel safe to be themselves.
My Why
I believe in the power of personal stories to create peace in the world. Not as a fluffy concept or something nice to say, but as something that is actually possible.
Neuroscience shows that when we hear someone’s real story, our brains sync. We feel what they feel. That is empathy. That is trust. And if stories can build trust between people who disagree on everything else, imagine what they could do inside our workplaces.
I’ve worked in spaces where leaders looked polished but felt hollow, where teams looked busy but were dying inside. If most of our waking hours are spent in places like that, what kind of world are we really building?
StorySharing™ creates something different. It gives people the safety to share their messy, unfinished ideas, to admit they don’t have it all together. And when that happens, everything changes — connection deepens, innovation sparks, and people show up not only as better workers, but as better humans to each other.
My Accomplishments
Since launching StorySharing™, I’ve worked with leaders and teams through coaching, workshops, and talks across industries. Highlights include:

Fun facts
I fell in love with advertising as a kid. I was the one begging not to mute the TV during ad breaks.
I’m a sucker for thrillers, hooked by any good twist.
I once competed in a powerlifting competition. These days my fixation is Pilates.
I asked my husband out first. Still my proudest courageous act.
I’m a third-generation Thai-Indian who has lived and worked in Thailand, Singapore, and Sydney. Growing up across cultures is probably why I’ve always been fascinated by people and what makes us connect.
