Meet Naomi Cao
Naomi Cao is the Architect of Modern Separation, known for reshaping how people navigate conflict and change. Grounded in lived experience, Naomi challenges the reactive models that dominate separation and replaces them with intentional design. Her work helps individuals and families interrupt impulsive responses, prevent unnecessary damage and create pathways forward that protect people, dignity, and long-term wellbeing. Based in Australia, Naomi built her work from personal experience navigating divorce, including representing herself in the Family Court, and founded a women’s support group in 2018 before establishing her divorce coaching practice. She is NLP-certified and brings a calm, strategic presence to a space often defined by overwhelm and emotional volatility. Naomi supports clients across a wide range of separation scenarios, including high-conflict, high-asset, collaborative and complex family dynamics. Her approach blends emotional regulation with practical strategy, helping clients communicate more effectively, make clearer decisions under pressure and reduce unnecessary legal and emotional costs. She is also supported by a strong referral network of trusted professionals, including family lawyers, financial specialists and therapists. As a speaker, Naomi is valued for her calm authority and actionable frameworks. Her storytelling is impactful, captivating and deeply personable. She blends real-world experience with clear insight in a way that keeps audiences engaged while helping them feel steadier, clearer and more capable.
My Why
When Split Happens, people deserve better support when life enters moments of conflict and separation. Having experienced both the emotional shock of sudden separation and the complexity of navigating legal and relational systems without a clear roadmap, Naomi understands firsthand how quickly people are pushed into survival mode. She shares her knowledge to prevent unnecessary damage. Naomi has seen how a lack of structure, language, and guidance causes people to react under pressure, escalating conflict and creating long-term consequences that could have been avoided. Her work is grounded in the idea that early intervention and intentional decision-making can change outcomes dramatically. Naomi is passionate about helping others grow because growth isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about learning how to pause, regain clarity and make deliberate choices in high-stakes moments.
Through her speaking, Naomi wants audiences to leave feeling steadier and more capable, with practical language, usable frameworks, and a clearer understanding of what is within their control. She wants people to feel less alone and less trapped by the belief that separation has to be destructive.
The impact she aims to create is practical and lasting: fewer families caught in unnecessary conflict, more parents protecting their children’s emotional wellbeing and more individuals navigating separation with dignity, strength and a plan. Separation may be a turning point, but it does not have to be the thing that breaks someone. It can be the moment they can rebuild with purpose.
My Accomplishments

Alongside her community leadership, Naomi completed her NLP training and has raised three children; two of whom are currently at university - while continuing to grow her professional practice. She is also a proud mum to three dogs and a bearded dragon.
Coming from a Vietnamese refugee background, Naomi embodies resilience, adaptability and determination. Her ability to pivot across career paths, combined with her empathy, work ethic and genuine interest in people, sets her apart. How I can help
Staying calm and strategic in high-conflict moments: Learn how to interrupt reactive patterns, regulate emotions and respond with clarity; especially when stakes are high and communication feels impossible.
Navigating separation (either personal or professional) with an intentional “design” mindset: Replace chaos and overwhelm with a structured approach that protects dignity, people and long-term wellbeing; so decisions are made for the future, not the fight.
Communicating in ways that reduce damage (and cost): Gain practical tools for difficult conversations, boundary-setting and negotiation so conflict doesn’t escalate and unnecessary legal/emotional costs are avoided.
Protecting people from the ripple effects of conflict: Understand the hidden impact of ongoing tension and learn strategies to create safer, steadier family dynamics during and after separation.
Rebuilding identity and direction after major change: Discover how to move from survival mode into stability and confidence; creating a pathway forward that feels grounded, empowering, and sustainable.
