Meet Leigh Anderson
I deeply understand the challenges we face when placed in high-stress, high-consequence environments. My career has taken me across a diverse range of paramedic operations, including urban, rural, remote, marine, and austere settings. With a Bachelor of Paramedic Science, a Graduate Certificate of Emergency Health, and 15 years of operational experience, I have dedicated my career to both frontline paramedicine and the education of future paramedics. I am the author of The Paramedic Mindset, a book that explores psychological resilience, mindset strategies, and peak performance under stress. As a university lecturer in paramedicine, I am passionate about equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in emergency healthcare. Beyond academia, I conduct workshops, keynote speaking, and coaching, helping individuals and teams develop resilience, leadership, and the ability to perform under pressure. My goal is to take the lessons I have learned from the high-paced, life-or-death world of ambulance response and share them with you. I want to highlight and instill the values of compassion, empathy, sacrifice, courage, and resilience - qualities that not only define great paramedics but also enable individuals to navigate life's most difficult moments.
My Why
I have witnessed the extremes of the human experience - life and death, hope and despair, triumph and failure, resilience and vulnerability. The challenges I’ve faced in high-stakes environments have shaped me, teaching me that strength is found in service to others. My why is to share the lessons I have learned through hardship so others may flourish.
