Meet Lawrence Mitchell
Lawrence Mitchell is a leadership strategist, keynote speaker, and former CEO of Wellbeing at Work APAC whose work focuses on one central question: how do organisations amplify human potential in the age of AI?
With more than 25 years of global leadership experience, Lawrence has worked at C-suite level inside FTSE 20 organisations, led international teams of over 200 people, and advised boards and executive teams across Europe, the United States and APAC.
As CEO of Wellbeing at Work APAC, he worked with leading organisations across Australia, Singapore and India, helping leaders embed wellbeing into strategy, leadership capability and workplace culture.
Through this work he saw that wellbeing is not simply about health programmes, but about creating the conditions where people can think clearly, collaborate effectively, adapt to change and do their best work.
Today, through his consultancy Finding Equilibrium, Lawrence helps organisations design cultures that unlock creativity, resilience and performance, enabling people to thrive alongside rapidly advancing technology.
Blending neuroscience, leadership insight and real-world executive experience, Lawrence’s talks explore how leaders can harness AI while strengthening the uniquely human capabilities that drive innovation, trust and long-term success.
Audiences value his work for connecting a powerful idea: when organisations invest in human potential, performance follows.
My Why
I am driven by a deep belief that human potential is far greater than most of us are currently expressing.
Across my career, from leading global teams in the corporate sector to building businesses and working with organisations around the world, I have seen how often people operate far below what they are capable of. Not because they lack talent, but because the systems they work within were not designed with human wellbeing, trust and growth in mind.
When those conditions change, something powerful happens. People reconnect with their energy, their purpose and their capacity to contribute in meaningful ways.
Through my speaking, I aim to create those moments of perspective. Moments where leaders pause, see things differently and realise that wellbeing is not separate from performance. It is the foundation of it.
If that shift in thinking helps even a few people lead better lives, build healthier organisations and unlock more of the potential that already exists around them, then the work has been worthwhile.
My Accomplishments
My journey has fundamentally been one of change, growth and self-discovery.
As a child I was painfully shy and deeply insecure. I never imagined I would one day be speaking on stages around the world. The fact that I now do still surprises many people who knew me when I was young, and it certainly surprises me too.
What drove that transformation was a lifelong fascination with understanding myself and the human condition and a determination to live my best life. I studied psychology and history, and later explored neuroscience, astrology, bodywork and other disciplines to better understand how human beings grow and realise their potential.
Professionally I have had two overlapping careers. I spent almost a decade as Chief Marketing Officer within a global FTSE-listed organisation, learning how to lead transformation and change at scale. Over the past nine years living in Australia, I followed my entrepreneurial path, helping build the Wellbeing at Work community across Asia-Pacific and running more than 20 summits across Australia, Singapore and India.
Personally, my own development has mirrored this journey. I have run six marathons, explored nutrition and mental health, and spent many years working on my own emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Today I feel more whole and more in equilibrium than ever. I believe deeply that wellbeing is the power behind performance, and I now dedicate my work to helping people and organisations amplify their human potential in the age of AI.
Fun facts
I’ve always tried to walk my talk and role model the brand I represent. Something that surprised me last year was being encouraged to send my photos to a modelling agency, and to my surprise I ended up getting signed.
That has been a whole new adventure. I never imagined I would become a model at this stage of my life, but it has definitely been fun and a reminder that life can still open unexpected doors.
How I can help
Turn wellbeing from a “nice to have” into a measurable driver of performance. I help leaders understand how wellbeing, engagement, and culture directly influence productivity, retention, and long-term business outcomes.
Navigate the age of AI with a human-centred leadership mindset. I help organisations amplify human potential by focusing on psychological safety, trust, meaningful work, and the uniquely human capabilities that technology cannot replace.
Help purpose-driven founders and business owners clarify their positioning and go-to-market strategy. Drawing on decades in marketing and leadership, I support them to articulate their unique value, build credible brands, and take their ideas to market in a way that creates real impact. I call this Holistic Marketing.
