Meet Dr Jane Foster
Why do we assume we're failing if we're not happy, considering there are over 20,000 emotions to feel? And when did sadness turn into an illness instead of just another emotion to experience?
I am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages take responsibility for their emotional well-being and regain control amid an increasingly uncertain world. With the rise of social media and other platforms, society has shifted away from accountability toward harmful patterns of blame, judgment, and retaliation.
If we keep picking everyone up off the rough emotional roads, when will anyone learn to improve their driving skills and thus regain and maintain control under challenging conditions?
As a teacher, I didn't want to create yet another reactive program. We are inundated with quick fixes. I wanted to develop a simple yet long-term solution that all age groups (from 2 to 102!) could adopt to help change destructive social norms.
So, I created something unique, simple and preventative that fosters cultural change.
In my doctoral research, I demonstrated how powerful language centred on a driving metaphor can reduce psychological distress while improving well-being, life satisfaction, and resilience. It even saved several students’ lives.
I have successfully introduced these concepts to individuals, families, schools, businesses, organisations, and communities, providing a shared language to articulate complex emotions and create much-needed change.
My aim is to promote cultural change, encouraging everyone to develop a sense of responsibility and control in an increasingly chaotic world.
I’m excited to join you on that journey.
My Why
No life is meant to be smooth and without challenges. Let's change the destructive belief that success is predominantly seen as being on a smooth, happy road.
My passion is to provide people with simple resources to navigate any emotional road without judgment of themselves or others.
We need to refrain from constantly removing people from challenging emotional paths and instead let them stay on these difficult roads long enough to gain skills and resilience.
When we stop resisting emotions and start navigating them, real change happens.
There are no wrong emotional roads—only valuable experiences.
ERT is preventative. I believe it provides a long-term solution to building lasting mental and emotional health.

Fun facts

How I can help
How to objectively communicate emotions clearly and without conflict. Recognising that all emotions serve a purpose helps eliminate the judgment and stigma currently associated with challenging emotions.
Teach you practical strategies to regain and maintain control on any emotional road. Learn how to empty your glass of stress daily to prevent it from accumulating and becoming overwhelming.
Learn to handle daily challenges with control instead of feeling victimised and out of control. Nobody can make you feel a certain way; it’s your choice. Your attitude is your steering wheel—empowering you to choose your own path.
Using simple language to rewire neural pathways, guiding you towards your goals rather than making you feel pushed onto a rough road by people and circumstances.
Remember that experiencing difficult emotional periods isn't a sign of failure; real success is about your capacity to regain and maintain control during those challenging times.
