Meet Annie Harvey

Annie Harvey is an Event Energiser, TEDx speaker, author of three books, laughter coach and mindfulness specialist who helps audiences feel calmer, brighter and more energised - without needing jokes, comedy or forced fun.

A former primary school teacher with more than a decade of experience in mindfulness, laughter yoga and workplace wellbeing, Annie translates neuroscience and psychology into simple, memorable tools people can actually use in the middle of busy, real-life days.

Her sessions blend laughter, mindfulness, breathwork, movement and vagus nerve strategies to help people shift stress, lift mood, reconnect with others and reset their nervous system. Annie’s work is playful, practical and science-backed - ideal for conferences, workplace wellbeing days, team events and special awareness weeks.

Audiences describe Annie as warm, wise, funny and wonderfully real. She doesn’t just talk about wellbeing - she creates a live experience where people feel the shift for themselves. Participants leave her sessions lighter, calmer and equipped with small, doable practices they can use straight away.

My Why

I came to this work the hard way, as a burnt-out school teacher who cared deeply but was running on empty.

Mindfulness found me first. It gave me a pause button. It helped me notice what was happening in my body and mind before stress completely ran the show. Then laughter found me - not comedy, not jokes, but the kind of laughter that shifts your state, softens your body and reminds you that you’re still alive under all the pressure (it's called laughter yoga by the way but there's no downward dog involved!)

A few years later, I became a carer for both my parents with dementia. That season changed everything. I saw how much our nervous systems matter - in families, workplaces, classrooms, aged care settings and everyday human relationships. I also saw how powerful small moments of joy, breath, movement and connection can be.

That’s why I do this work.

I believe wellbeing doesn’t need to feel heavy, complicated or another thing on the to-do list. Sometimes the most powerful shift happens through a breath, a pause, a shared laugh, a stretch, a hum, or a tiny moment of mindful awareness.

I speak because people are tired, overloaded and often running on nervous-system fumes. My work gives them a way to reset — gently, practically and joyfully — so they can leave the room feeling lighter than when they arrived.

My Accomplishments

TEDx speaker and author of three books. Certified laughter yoga leader and mindfulness trainer with more than 10 years’ experience. Creator of The Giggle Game™ - a wellbeing resource using laughter, mindful breathing and vagus nerve strategies to support children of all ages (3-103)!

Fun facts

I can get almost any room laughing - no punchlines required. I learned to swim at 50 after a lifetime of avoiding it. I love turning serious science into simple, playful tools people remember. I believe laughter is one of the most underused wellbeing tools we have. I have danced on stage with Richard Branson - yes really! I appeared in an Adelaide Fringe show about the brain with Dr Gill Hicks. Ran live laughter sessions at Glastonbury in 2025!
