Meet Aaron Reid
Aaron Reid leads procurement-driven social value, turning policy intent into measurable, enforceable outcomes without compromising commercial or delivery performance. He is currently GM Social Value at Ventia, helping to translate Ventia’s purpose, ‘making infrastructure work for communities’ into practical actions that deliver positive outcomes for people and communities.
With over 30 years' experience across the UK and Australia in sustainable procurement, social value measurement, and inclusive workforce and supply-chain reform.
He co-founded and co-chairs the Australian Social Value Taskforce, which developed the Global TOM
My Why
I believe business can be a powerful force for good in society. But I’ve seen too many good intentions fail in delivery and I care about making sure what’s promised to communities actually happens and can be proven.
When all is said and done, much more is said than done
What drives me is the belief that too much human potential is lost through circumstance, exclusion and systems that fail to create opportunity for everyone.
I'm passionate about using the power of procurement to influence organisations at scale, encouraging them to compete not only on cost and quality, but on the positive outcomes they create for people, communities and the environment.
I also believe that a fair, inclusive and respectful culture creates the conditions for both organisational success and greater social impact, and that no single organisation can solve society's biggest challenges alone. Real progress happens when organisations work together around shared challenges and common goals.
For me, the opportunity is to help organisations use their influence more intentionally, creating a society where more people have the opportunity to participate, contribute and fulfil their potential.

Fun facts
● Aaron emigrated to Australia in 2023 from the UK with his family and now lives in Sydney. ● Aaron has 2 teenage daughters, which is at least a fact. ● After a lifelong ‘healthy fear’ of dogs Aaron is now the proud owner of a toy poodle called Peppa
